At Bentleigh Dental on McKinnon, we care about getting to know you from your very first visit with our dentists.
An initial consultation includes a detailed new patient history, which helps us understand your medical history and any dental concerns you have. Our thorough dental examination assesses all the structures in and around your mouth, including your teeth, gums, soft tissues, and bone.
We participate in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) and will only charge the rebatable fee for examinations, cleans, fissure sealants and x-rays.
The dentist may take photographs or x-rays of your mouth to examine any areas of concern. Your dentist will also perform a periodontal screening assessment to evaluate the overall health of your gums and bone. If you require full periodontal charting and/or the removal of plaque and calculus from your teeth, they will arrange an appointment for you with one of our hygienists.
After the assessment, we’ll discuss our findings in detail, explaining any treatment needs in terms that are easy to understand. If treatments are required, we’ll provide you with a printed treatment plan outlining your needs, costs, appointment lengths, and private health fund item numbers.
Our payment policy requires payment at the end of each appointment, though we do offer payment plans under special circumstances. Don’t wait – schedule your consultation with us today and experience the Bentleigh Dental on McKinnon difference!
Many people consider themselves to be scared of the dentist. Anxiety or dental phobias are often an impediment to seeking dental treatment. Unfortunately when an anxious patient defers their dental treatment, it can result in an episode of pain or discomfort, thus reinforcing the negativity associated with the dentist.
At Bentleigh Dental on McKinnon we are committed to breaking that cycle. All of the clinicians at our practice genuinely care about their patients and will take the time to help them tackle and conquer their fears.
Some patients find that the use of laughing gas (nitrous oxide) can help to reduce their anxiety. We have the facilities to administer this at our practice.
You can discuss any concerns or fears you have with our compassionate dental team. We are dedicated to creating a positive and anxiety-free experience tailored to your needs.
